Seventeen-year-old, Katie McQuillen is a halfling (vampire/elf mix) in a world where halflings are not acceptable members of polite society. Unfortunately, her grandpa is chairman of the Vampire High Council and she is forced into attending a summer camp meant to create peace between the Sídhí races (vampires, elves, dragons, fairies, shape shifters...).

There are consequences to finding out the Dragon Council’s true plan!

Katie and Jared are now considered the perfect bait to catch members of the Khr'Vurr.

As if being bait isn’t bad enough, Katie realizes a future with Jared, a full blood vampire, may not be possible after all.

Snippet

Jared’s cheek rubbed against Katie’s hair. “I agree,” he said, letting her know he had been following her train of thought.

Since they had bonded, several days earlier, they had maintained a feather-light mental touch on each other. Nothing intrusive, but glimpsing your beloved’s thoughts or having him answer an unspoken thought made her feel special.

He chuckled, kissing her neck. A firm feeling of pleasure pulsed from him as he agreed with her unspoken view on sharing their thoughts. “As long as you keep your pert little nose out of my head at Christmas time.”

“My nose is not pert,” she said, unsuccessfully trying to keep the laughter out of her voice, but knew it didn’t work. He felt her humor as clear as she felt his.

“Hmmm, your sweet little nose felt pert last night when you...” he grunted to a stop as her elbow caught him between two ribs.

Her face turned beet red as she snuggled deeper in his embrace. “Wretch,” she grumbled. “We agreed the nose episode was not to be spoken about, not ever.”

“Mia Cara, having your nose, covering in whipped cream…”

“Enough,” she groaned, covering her face with both hands.

He snuggled against her neck, gently kissing her. “I love the taste of Mia Cara flavored whipped cream.”

(Mia Cara means Beloved)

Vampire Forbidden Territory Sídhí Summer Camp Series #2 eBook Jodie B Cooper Reviews

While this book is the second in the Sidhi Summer Camp series, and I read it as the second book, it would have been easy enough to read this as it's own story. The characters remained the same, but the focus shifted to different relationships and built more around the subversive organization that wants the summer camp to fail and the evil leaders to prevail.

There was a bit more of the romance aspect in this story, but it included plenty of otherworldly creatures (some were pretty creepy)and other bits of mayhem to keep most readers interested in the outcome.

I liked the way Ms. Cooper developed the characters and incorporated some legends that "mundanes" (humans) have heard of and explained how they came from the Sidhi realm. It was another fun read, and I am looking forward to trying out some other books by Jodie B. Cooper.
Teen vampires and summer camp who would have thought it would get your attention? Obviously, Jodie B. Cooper knows that vampires are huge in the the young adult genre right now and she has added a great series to the mix. Yes, the title does say 'summer camp'. I was surprised that the idea of summer camp for vampires actually added to this story more than expected.

The story takes place outside the human world in the land of our myths. Even vampires are unsure of what is real. The young vampires are sent to summer camp by the elders, dragons of a different kind, to work on bringing peace to their lands. Each of them is from the families of control in their land. And each brings a different view of the world and different abilities.

One team has been whisked away from their cabin to keep them safe from forces that want to take them out. But, who is behind it? Why are they brought so far from the cabins? And, is one of them in on it? These questions will keep you reading and in the end you will be hoping for book 3 in the series. A definite page turner that I'll give 4 stars.

What a phenomenal follow-up to the first novel in the series. Picking up where the last novel left off, everyone was back with a vengeance and this installment was even faster paced than the original.

Cooper's writing and descriptions didn't miss a beat in this novel. Everything remained seamless. Her storytelling draws you in further and further with each page. Descriptions and settings remain phenomenal in this sequel. I spent a great deal of time wishing that I could walk into the world that was so clearly laid out in my mind's eye.

Character development continues in this segment of the series. You learn a great deal more about characters from the previous novel, getting to know them even better. You also meet some new characters that your heart cannot help but go out to. These characters are so real yet simultaneously surreal. However, I must say that I don't think I've ever seen so many life altering misunderstandings in a single relationship. It had me torn between wanting and loathing life-mates.

At the end of the story I just had one big question. What's next? I need to go on some more adventures with these guys.
This is Book 2 of Sidhi Summer Camp. Katie is a halfling who is bonded as a lifemate to a vampire named Jared. They are part of the Summer Camp which is for children of influential politicians from powerful valleys. The teens are sent there by the Elder in order to keep peace. Katie and Jared along with Sarah, Nick, Emily, Mitch (Katie's twin), Beth and Brianna will have to leave their camp in order to seek a safe place. They will have to deal with cave mites and sand crabs on their journey to safety.

I have only read one book in this series and so it took me a while to really get a hold on all the characters. I would recommend reading book one first. This book has a lot going for it-vampires, shapeshifters, dragons and more. There was a lot of action and this made it a quick read. There were a lot of characters but I think Emily had to be my favorite. I like anything with paranormal in it so I enjoyed the story for the most part. There were some parts that seemed drawn out but overall a good read. I may get around to reading the others in this series.

My actual rating for this book is 3.5 stars.

I received this ebook free through LibraryThing Member Giveaways in exchange for an honest review.

really like this book but got to admit I like all her books. Just wish I knew if katie's brother ever falls for his mate.
